Dr Moore’s talk will focus on the importance of planting suitable trees in private back and front yards in Melbourne to offset the effects of climate change. In this talk the focus will be on Australian natives, particularly Australian species that have proven to be resilient to climate change in scientific trials. Dr Moore will be making suggestions as to how to select trees wisely for their particular landscape situation.
STOP PRESS! Since the article about the talk appeared in the “Age” last Saturday, we have had a big response on Facebook, indicating that many more than our usual number of 30 will be coming to this meeting. Parking at the hall is limited but there is street parking nearby including about 30 additional spaces in Hortense St. There is a map on the APS, Keilor Plains web site: http://www.apskeilorplains.org.au/ It would help with catering if people register their interest in attending by contacting our Secretary, Anne via the website or by phone: 9336 3228. It may be outside your scope to include the details, but as long as the time is changed, it will help APS members attending from other groups to avoid having to search for a car parking space.
