The Pomonal Native Flower Show is presented by the Australian Plants Society, Grampians Group.
The show is held on Saturday 5th October from 9am to 5pm and on Sunday 6th October from 9am to 4pm at Pomonal Hall and this year the theme is ‘Native Gardens for Wildlife’.
Entry is $5 for adults. Children are free.
Many beautiful native flowers will be on display, a regular feature of this special spring event. You may even find some wildlife!
There will be native plants for sale from local native plant growers and many books available to purchase on native plant gardening, design, flora and fauna.
Refreshments will be available all day and the Stawell Lions Club will provide a barbecue for lunch.
Local market stalls will be present.
A special feature this year will be expert speakers talking on subjects related to this year’s theme, in a marquee adjacent to the hall.

Saturday 5th Oct
10:00 am AB Bishop author of ‘Habitat: A practical guide to creating a wildlife-friendly Australian garden’ will speak about ‘Attracting Wildlife to Your Garden’
11:30 am Denis Crawford author of ‘Garden Pests, Diseases and Good Bugs’, the ultimate illustrated guide to insects for Australian gardeners, will speak about ‘The Importance of Insects’
1:00 pm Greg Kerr is a senior ecologist at the Glenelg Nature Trust. He will speak about ‘Sleepy Lizards’ (otherwise known as Stumpytails, or Shinglebacks)
2:30 pm Yonie Tiljak will speak about ‘Attracting Frogs to Your Garden’
Sunday 6th Oct
10:00 am AB Bishop will speak about ‘Creating a Wildlife Friendly Garden’
11:30 am Denis Crawford will speak about ‘The Importance of Insects’
