Marking the Collection of Australian Plants by Banks and Solander

Ringwood Keynote Lectures: Indigenous Plant Uses- About Banks and Solander

With strong connections with the exhibitions two lectures will be presented.

1.  Bruce Pascoe, an Aboriginal man of Bunurong/Tasmanian heritage, author of the landmark book Dark Emu on Aboriginal land management and agriculture, will speak on how the First Nation’s peoples used and farmed plants.
2.  Professor Tim Entwisle, Director and Chief Executive, RBGV will speak about Joseph Banks who financed and participated in the 1770 collections.

The lectures will be followed by afternoon tea and an inspection of the exhibition.
