Banksia Week. Royal Botanic Gardens Cranbourne

Professor David Cantrill – Opening address on the extensive scientific work on the fossil history of Antarctica , including of Proteaceae.
Kevin and Kathy Collins on the science and art of banksia cultivation.
Dr Inga Simpson on the representations of Banksias in literature.
Rare and unusual species of Banksias will be included in the plants for sale. There will also be artworks on exhibition and for sale.
Guided tours of the RBGV Cranbourne Special Collections and a Banksia tour of the Australian Garden on Saturday 16th, Sunday 17th, Wednesday 20th and Saturday 23rd August.
